Beane River View news

Yesterday we walked from Beane River View to Belmont View, 5 miles in total, for our 3rd Silver Walk! Luckily we stayed (mostly) dry and arrived to a very warm welcome with a delicious buffet lunch!

Michael, a resident at Beane River View for over 7 years, sadly passed away recently. His family contributed regularly to the home; helping to set up the pub, painting and fixing up odd bits and pieces. In lieu of flowers, the family very kindly asked for donations to be made to the home.

Beane River View residents enjoyed a visit from the Hertfordshire Cadets!

Beane River View held their own fish and chip night with a pub quiz hosted by home manager Bobby. The event raised almost £200 for the home with everyone who attended having a fantastic time!

Beane River View residents were joined by children from Watton at Stone Nursery as they helped out painting plant pots ready for spring! The residents loved seeing all the children and had an absolutely wonderful time.

Beane River View’s Catholic residents were joined today by a Catholic Priest come to give ashes. Today is the start of lent, a very significant day in the Catholic calendar. The Priest met with residents to give them a blessing and present them with ashes.

After an incredible effort from all of our entrants, we have tallied up the points and found the winner of our Christmas Decorations Competition! It was a close run thing but the winner of the £200 is Beane River View! Congratulations to all in the home and well done for the hard work!

Beane River View held their Christmas Bazaar recently with stalls including a tombola, raffle, name the teddy bear and bric-a-brac! A Santa’s Grotto was also there, which the families loved, along with karaoke for their musically minded guests!
