The money had been raised following a fundraising event held on 24th April at the Home which saw Tina Castagna, a member of the care team shave her hair off to raise money for the charity and the Home. Tina, who has been a carer for over 10 years wanted to do this because many of her family have been affected by cancer, including a dear cousin. She was supported by the care team at our Hertford care home who organised a fantastic event with cakes, cream teas and more, and the team were delighted to be joined by many other family and friends who turned out in force to show their support. Following the event Tina’s hair went to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs for children suffering hair loss. Beane River’s Home Manager Alison King said “It was a fantastic event – an amazing £1280 was raised which will be split between Beane River View and Macmillan. We are so pleased to be able to present this cheque to Nicola today and are incredibly proud of our Tina!”
