Quantum Care is a not for profit company which allows us to focus on what’s best for our residents, rather than what’s best for shareholders.

Started in 1992, Quantum Care was one of the first companies created to operate homes formerly owned and run by local authorities. With a vision to place residents at the heart of our work, Quantum Care successfully completed a £30 million rebuild and refurbishment programme over the next decade. In 2005 we opened our first home in Essex which was then followed by the construction of new homes in Bedfordshire. Since that time, we have completed several new build projects and are continuing to develop more.
Governance of Quantum Care is entrusted to a Board of up to ten non-executive members, who bring a wide range of skills and business experience, plus four experienced executive, non-voting directors.
The Board of Quantum Care meets up to nine times a year and its primary role is to agree the strategic direction of the company, ensure that policies, procedures and resources are in place to achieve strategic objectives and monitor progress against them. It also ensures the company is compliant with statutory legislation, contractual requirements and regulatory processes. The Board delegates day to day management of the company to the Chief Executive.
The Board also delegates regular monitoring to a range of specialist sub-committees, including audit and finance, remuneration, development and quality assurance. Each sub-committee is chaired by a non-executive director and reports directly to the Board.
Quantum Care is a member of the National Care Forum – the leading voice for not-for-profit care providers. More details on the NCF is available at www.nationalcareforum.org.uk.
