Reminiscence is a favourite activity in our homes, especially for those living with dementia, as long term memories can be more easily recalled and are often fond memories of childhood and their families.

A relative has been inspired to fundraise for pet and doll therapy items for care home residents to enjoy.  Maria Monger has started a fundraiser after seeing the impact doll therapy had on her mother’s wellbeing while in our care at Elizabeth House in Welwyn Garden City.  

Residents at Vesta Lodge in St Albans have been busy making some new decorations for the dining room – bon appétit indeed!

Greenacres in Hatfield decided the mark the start of Ramadan by learning about the event and enjoying some middle eastern delicacies. Food plays an important part of Ramadan, as Muslims should fast during daylight hours at this time if it is safe for them to do so.

Our residents love a visit from some furry friends… In St Albans, residents from Fosse House enjoyed some cuddles with Bella and Womble - from the sheer joy on their faces it looks like they had a wonderful time.

Beane River View in Hertford wanted to honour those they lost through the COVID-19 Pandemic by releasing a rainbow of biodegradable balloons. #DayOfReflection #DayOfReflection2021

Our Senior Facilities Coordinator Kayleigh and her dog Hunter have completed 100km dog walking challenge for DementiaUK, raising £265 for this cause so close to our hearts.

We miss our Intergenerational bonding sessions, hopefully we can get back to them soon! In the meantime, our homes really love when schools and nurseries get in touch and let them know they are thinking of them.

Our communities have some amazing people that are so helpful to our homes, we are so grateful. Elizabeth House in Welwyn Garden City recently received a lovely donation of toiletries from Maria Gray as well as Easter Eggs from their local Morrisons – thank you so much!
