One more sleep until Christmas! Clearly, our homes have been getting into the Christmas spirit with parties in all the lounges – here is Mountbatten Lodge in Hemel Hempstead with some pictures of their celebrations.

An exciting birthday this week at Pinewood Lodge in South Oxhey – Muriel celebrated her 103^rd birthday!  With a cake made by kitchen assistant Sophia, a few sherries and a zoom with her family, Muriel has said what a wonderful time she has had!

Lots of Christmas crafting going on at Elizabeth House in Welwyn Garden City!  The residents enjoyed a bit of colouring and stocking decorating, they look great!  

The “Vesta Family Christmas Tree” at Vesta Lodge in St Albans is looking lovely.  Through the month of December, friends and family of the residents bring decorations to add to the tree to help keep everyone connected at this time.  

The Mead in Borehamwood received a package of “Cards of Care”, where children took the time to write jokes or messages of hope in cards for the residents.  The residents loved reading the messages and seeing the sweet drawings.  #LetsTalkLoneliness #BeMoreUs #ConnectingLives

Every year we hold a competition for the best Christmas display in the homes.  This year we made it a “Truly Terrific Tree” competi

Care worker Sophie at Courtland Lodge in Watford decided to jazz up Clarendon Lounge with a Christmas tree made of tinsel decorated with baubles of each resident – what a clever idea! 

Residents at Beane River View in Hertford were delighted to receive sweet handmade Christmas cards from St Mary’s School in Cheshunt – really lovely way to stay connected.   Receiving cards like this can help alleviate loneliness in the holiday season.
