Yesterday was #WorldMentalHealthDay, so Courtland Lodge in Watford got chatting over a nice cuppa – it can really help your wellbeing to talk to others in difficult times, and to reach out to others to make sure that they are feeling supported and listened to.

For #WorldAlzheimersDay, Courtland Lodge in Watford had a Cowgirls and Indians themed dress up day! The staff dressed as cowgirls and the residents made feather headbands to wear. With a cake sale and prize bingo they really marked the day, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Courtland Lodge in Watford enjoyed a sunny afternoon in the garden being serenaded by Dave the Entertainer – looks like they had a jolly time!

At the weekend, Courtland Lodge in Watford had a “Greatest Showman” themed garden party for the residents. With a socially-distanced live entertainer, games with prizes, sweet treats, buffet and the Rockin’ Robin providing some drinks, a fantastic time was had by all!

Amanda at Courtland Lodge in Watford going the extra mile to make hydration a-peeling to the residents! They got them helping to make some fruity smoothies as well as the fabulous mocktails.

Yesterday was the 101st birthday of Annie from Courtland Lodge in Watford! She had a visit from her family and a tea party with her friends from Berrygrove – hope you had a lovely birthday Annie! Happy birthday from all of us!

Today is VE Day – where we celebrate Victory in Europe for World War II, on the anniversary of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on 8th May 1945. To mark this day, Courtland Lodge in Watford made some rosettes to wear.

At Courtland Lodge in Watford they had a lot of left over Easter Eggs… They made good use of them and did a bit of baking, making chocolate rice krispie cakes with mini eggs and maltesers.
