Fosse House residents have taken advantage of the sunny weather to get to work making a few improvements to their nature garden! In addition to planting some new creature-friendly bedding, they felt that it was time for new living quarters for their feathered residents.

The time came for residents and staff at Fosse House to say goodbye to the ducks. They brought lots of joy to everyone in the home over the last couple of months but they’re now very happy in their new home!

Fosse House’s music and movies fundraiser, arranged by Beth and Emily, was a definite success, raising over £200 for the residents’ amenities! The event had staff dressing up, a cake competition, food from around the world, karaoke and live singing from Hayley (which got everyone up and dancing!).

Soon after Joe moved into Fosse House, the team learned that he has a degree in Hospitality and Catering and used to work as a chef in Bermuda! So when he asked if he could cook himself beef stroganoff for dinner, they were only too happy to help and were very impressed at the delicious end result!

Residents at Fosse House put on their chef hats and made themselves a delicious lunch with a selection of quiches and salad! They had a great time preparing the meal, reminiscing about different dishes they used to make, although of course, the best bit was the eating!

Fosse House resident Derek has always had a passion for wolves and used to photograph wolves being hand-reared. His Silver Wish was to stroke a wolf and, thanks to the team at Fosse and the generosity of the public, his wish came true!

Fosse House celebrated Diwali last night, decorating the sun lounge along the ‘Festival of Light’ theme for 2 of their residents and their families. They brought out samosas, pakoras and Indian sweets and had Bangra music playing.

As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, we asked every resident in our care to make a wish and then planned to grant one wish per home.

Fosse House activity worker Zoe and carers from Dove Unit took their residents to the garden centre where they enjoyed a cup of tea in the café and a look around the butterfly section! It was a huge hit, especially with Eric who was very pleased with his new, winged friend!
