YOUNG CARE WORKER WINS LEARNING AWARD

The talk will explain in everyday language what dementia is (and what it is not). It will explore some of the reasons dementia affects people in the way it does and look at what can be done to help offset the impact of the illness.

During all our visits to our mother, across a time-span of well over four years, we were struck by the way in which all staff combined a good-humoured, friendly attitude with skilful, watchful responses to residents’ needs, all in a relaxed, home-from-home atmosphere.

The Greenacres Life Story events give residents and staff the opportunity to sit together over tea, coffee and cakes to discuss their life stories, past and present.

Every Thursday morning during April, the Best Friends Cafe at Greenacres opens to offer residents and staff a wide range of refreshments including tea, coffee and cakes.

Every Wednesday Morning, throughout the month of April, residents at Greenacres are invited to take advantage of the home's regular Music Workshop.

Every Tuesday morning, throughout the month of April, residents at Greenacres are invited to take advantage of the home's Beauty Sessions which include manicures and head massages. For more information about these events please contact the home directly on 01707 280500.
