Every once in a while staff in our care homes are approached by someone and asked if there is anything they can do to help the residents.

More lovely gifts from the customers and staff at Dunelm, this time from the St Albans branch for our Hatfield home Greenacres. Their very generous gifts have put a lot of smiles on the resident’s faces, thank you so much!

Greenacres in Hatfield have been learning about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah – they ate doughnuts and learned about sufganiyah which are round jelly doughnuts eaten in celebration of this time. They symbolise the oil lamps that are burned for eight nights in the Hanukkah story.

Residents of our Greenacres care home in Wellfield Close, Hatfield have been treated to an exciting fire show from local performer Hayley Steele.

Joan and Lorraine from Greenacres in Hatfield visited Dunelm’s St Albans store to see their charity Christmas tree. Greenacres was lucky enough to win the vote to be part of their Christmas campaign alongside a local school and charity.

More animal antics in our homes with Greenacres in Hatfield having a visit from a pony! Dolly the therapy pony was brought to the home by Elite Ponies and the residents were thrilled to meet her!

Our staff like to go the extra mile to make our resident’s days extra special.

Rosemary at our Greenacres home in Hatfield has always wanted to learn to swim, so with help from the Platypus Swim Club at their local pool they had their first lesson at the weekend! Well done Rosemary! After a few more lessons she hopes to go swimming with her grandchildren

The residents at Greenacres, our care home in Hatfield, were visited by a team from their local fire station recently as part of the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s community safety initiative.
