The Mead news

Picture taken during the garden visits at The Mead recently.   It so lovely to see the happiness that these visits bring to the residents, they fit so much into the time allowed – smiles, tears and lots of catching up!  

Recently at The Mead in Borehamwood, Gerald and his wife Leonora celebrated 64 years of marriage. Leonora was bringing his favourite cakes and a card, Gerald prepared a lovely gift for his wife, red roses, chocolates, flower seeds and a card.

Here is Alex, our Deputy Home Manager at The Mead in Borehamwood, taking delivery of a donation from Nestlé. Alex said “I wanted to think of ways I could treat and thank the staff here for all they have been doing recently. I reached out to Nestle and I am amazed by their generosity.

The Mead in Borehamwood held a fundraiser for Dementia UK - "Time for a Cuppa" and a belated love celebration. With cakes, teas, and live music from Michael Maisey with their favourite songs they raised £67.65! Many thanks to Ros who brought cakes and helped all day.

The Mead at Borehamwood had a visit from Danielle from Romila for a session of "Boogie Beatz". They listened to their favourite songs, dancing and exercising sitting down or even standing up. Danielle managed to engage all residents and enjoyed a drink with them after. 

The Mead in Borehamwood held a coffee morning with Friends of Care Homes, a lovely surprise for this year, they personalised their tea cups (from Friends of Care Homes to Friends of The Mead).

The Mead in Borehamwood are working off the excesses of the festive season with a bit of seated exercise, looks like they are enjoying it too! 

Last week at the Mead in Borehamwood, Marianne and Gwen celebrated their birthdays on the same day. They had a lovely afternoon tea, birthday cake and a sing song. Marianne got a lovely card from her best friend, Rosemary, who is also a resident at The Mead.

The Mead in Borehamwood had several Christmas parties over the holidays with refreshments, delicious food and lots of fabulous entertainment, including talented staff and family members!
