The 2023 Connaught Opera Performance at Knebworth House

On the 7th September 2023 residents and staff from a number of our care homes visited Knebworth House to see the Connaught Opera perform a selection of operatic songs and musical pieces. This event takes place annually at Knebworth House with the kind permission of the Lytton Cobbold family who open up their home to our residents for the afternoon.

It was a beautifully sunny early Autumn day as minibuses, taxis and limousines carrying our residents converged on the house grounds to slowly meander their way through the estate to the house itself. The grandeur of the venue perfectly set the scene for the performance that was about to take place.

The artists from the Connaught Opera (Glenn Wilson, Maria Arakie and pianist Nicholas Bosworth) put on a magnificent show which captivated the audience through a combination of beautiful song, amazing outfits and incredibly accomplished piano playing. The audience was enthralled from start to finish and simply could not help but join in with some of the pieces.

The opera, set as it is in such a beautiful and historic venue, is an event that fills the senses and is a firm favourite among our residents.
