All the staff went the extra mile for Mum and me at Mayfair Lodge
My Mother has just died after 10+ years in Mayfair Lodge, The Walk, Potter's Bar living with dementia. When my Mother was first admitted to a North London Care Home in 2003 after having to transfer up from her home I was extremely disappointed with the care she received. I was eventually recommended to Mayfair Lodge by a friend and luckily Mum was able to move almost immediately into a very nice room, on the ground floor with a lovely view and an en suite toilet. Over the years I have watched the care and décor at the home improve and improve and I can honestly say the care that my Mum received overall has been superb. The carers, female and male, the housekeeper Sharon, the admin staff, managers and the cook, have been so kind and caring both to my mum and to myself. My mum with the help of a superb GP, community nurses and the staff at Mayfair had wonderfully peaceful and gentle end of life care at Mayfair Lodge and my daughter and I were able to share in her care. All the staff went the extra mile for Mum and me. For me the last fifteen years of Mum's life were distressing and sad as the dementia took over and she lost her husband and her son. Mayfair and her GP helped me to cope and ensure that Mum had superb tender loving care for which I will be forever thankful. Mrs B
