The Brownies and 10 baby chicks mark Easter at Willow Court!

During the weekend no less than 10 baby chicks were born at the Home, much to the excitement of all the staff and residents! The chicks were brought in by Willow Court’s Activity Team Neet and Jenny, and hatched over the weekend in the garden room within the Home, and so it was decided that they should each be named after a herb. However one very special chick, the last to be born was named Mason after the Grandson of one of Willow Court’s residents, who was very pleased to witness the birth of the final chick! Mason, Basil, Sage and co are only visitors however and will return to live on a local farm after Easter, however earlier on in the week the residents and staff were delighted to welcome further guests into the Home - The 1st Harpenden Brownies. The group have become regular visitors to the Home having planted over 600 daffodil bulbs within the grounds which were kindly donated by Vanstone Park Garden centre, Codicote. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2436","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-9727","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"733","title":"Easter Egg Hunt!","alt":""}}]] During the evening the group held an Easter egg hunt within the gardens of the Home taking the opportunity to look at how their beautiful flowers had progressed, before assisting the Home with picking a winner for their Easter Egg basket competition, with one of the group deciding that “they’re all so good, give them all a number one star!” [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2437","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-9728","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"412","title":"Singing Performance!","alt":""}}]] The Brownies then played games, enjoyed some Easter treats prepared by Willow Court’s Chef Manager Paul, before performing a number of songs for the residents within the Home’s brand new Best Friends café, which is to be officially opened by Harpenden Town Mayor, Councillor Mary Maynard tomorrow!
