Events Highlights @ Pinewood Lodge during Dementia Awareness week

To kick off our events for Dementia Awareness week 2014, Pinewood Lodge held a Cheese and Wine afternoon. Residents, family and friends came together to try a variety of different wines and cheeses; also enjoying the beautiful sunshine out in the gardens. A wonderful start to the week, with good food and drink, music and dancing. Fun we had! The film being shown is The Notebook, this film is based around a lady living with dementia. The moral of this story is not to forget that each person is an individual and has had many experiences throughout their life before the dementia affected them. Everyone is someone’s wife, husband, mother, father, family, and friend. Residents, staff and families enjoyed a piece of cake and a good old chin wag in our Best Friends Café.
