Fine Dining at Vesta Lodge
Vesta Lodge, one of our care homes in St. Albans, held a Fine Dining event on Friday 30th June. These events take place across our homes and are designed to give residents the opportunity to enjoy a fine dining experience without having to leave the home. These occasions are often shared with friends and family who are also invited to join their relative for a meal.
For many residents, leaving the home to dine with family and friends can present a number of challenges so these fine dining events are a wonderful opportunity for them enjoy an experience which might otherwise be too difficult or inconvenient for them.
The evening event at Vesta Lodge was very popular and it was fantastic to see twenty five family members joining the home’s residents for the occasion. The fabulous Italian menu, which was created by the home’s catering team, offered diners a selection of dishes including smoked salmon crostini, pan-fried sea bass with garlic butter served on a pancetta risotto with Parmesan crisp, gnocchi Florentine and Italian cannoli. All delivered with a smile from the waiting staff who volunteered to make the occasion as special as possible.
Feedback from the evening was overwhelmingly positive with diners commenting that the food was 5 star and that the atmosphere in the room was amazing. Coni, Vesta Lodge’s Home Manager said:
“These fine dining events are always a real joy and it’s wonderful to see so many of our residents and their families sitting down together to enjoy a great meal in a restaurant style environment. I’m so grateful to our catering team and to our volunteers for making the evening such a success! We’re already looking forward to our next fine dining evening.”
