Jubilee Court Remembrance Day
Residents at Jubilee Court have been making wax poppies for Remembrance Day. They flaked wax crayons onto greaseproof paper, then melted it. Once they had a wax sheet they cut the poppies out and finished them off with pipe cleaners and black buttons. Residents and carers gathered in the café for the 2 minute silence before sharing the names of family and friends lost in the war. This was followed by residents telling their stories of war-time and finally, reciting Churchill’s famous speech and ‘For the Fallen’, by Laurence Binyon.
