Jubilee Court Shuttleworth Visit
Five residents from Jubilee Court paid a visit to The Shuttleworth Collection (aviation museum) near Biggleswade recently. The exhibition was brilliant for the residents who enjoyed a trip down memory lane looking at the old planes and vehicles from their past. One resident was happy to share a story about how his father, who was a carpenter, had been recruited as an engineer on the aircraft in the First World War because they were all made from wood. Another resident was most disappointed that he couldn’t go ‘wing walking’ as he had done as a younger man! After the tour they all sat in the sunshine eating their packed lunch with a cup of tea and were lucky enough to see some the planes performing some impressive aerobatics. A special thank you to all the carers who came along to make this such a fantastic day out
