June Activities at Fosse House
We are being creative this month at Fosse House by making hats for this years ladies day at Ascot. We will be watching the day's events on TV and shall be keeping a close eye on the ladies fashions and accessories. All with a celebration tipple and of course cake and other refreshments. We will be holding a swing whilst you’re singing music and sherry morning on this year’s father's day playing CDs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Robbie Williams and other artists. With the Tennis season upon us we will be serving strawberries and cream with a little tipple on the units when the big matches are upon us. This month we have The St Albans Museum coming in for an afternoon with one of their reminiscence boxes. They will also be lending us a box to keep for a week to take along to those who will be unable to attend that afternoon so all residents can be involved. We are also holding a Sunflower growing competition. All residents on the units are to be given a pot to fill with compost and of course a sunflower seed. These will labelled and placed in the green house. Once they start to sprout they will be planted out in the raised beds by the residents who would like to do so. The prize for the tallest is yet to be decided as it would be nice to give the winner a little something that they personally would like and enjoy. At the end of the month we will be holding a Birthday Tea afternoon were the residents can celebrate all of the June’s Birthdays together with sing-a-long, birthday cards and of course a lovely Birthday Cake. This month also sees us starting up a small gardening club were we will be asking the residents if they would like to grow their own flowers and bedding plants. We are also looking at getting a sensory garden area for residents to come out and touch and smell various herbs and flowers. With our daily activities of Board Games, arts and crafts, walks around the lake, shopping trips to our local market, bingo, tea afternoons, music and other activities June looks set to be a busy month for us here at Fosse House. For more information on any of these events please contact the home directly on 01727 819700.
