Leslie and Barbara Celebrate Their 60th Wedding Anniversary

On Thursday 4th April Barbara and Leslie Howard Celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary at Jubilee Court, our care home in Stevenage. They were joined by many relatives and friends. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"1940","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-6548","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"411","title":"Leslie and Barbara with friends and family","alt":""}}]] Leslie came into residential care in October 2010 after a short stay in hospital. He first moved into Bulwer Lytton House, our care home in Knebworth, and then transferred to Jubilee Court. Leslie and his wife Barbara met at the Alston factory in Barnet, while Leslie was still serving in the Royal Air Force. Barbara borrowed her cousin's wedding dress for their big day which saw them accompanied by 6 bridesmaids and 1 pageboy. They spent their honeymoon in Leicester staying with Leslie's aunt. They were only together for a week and then Leslie had to return to his regiment in Germany.
