A letter of thanks for Mountbatten Lodge Staff
A letter of thanks for Mountbatten Staff - a fantastic recommendation for a lovely home - well done to you all! Dear All Mountbatten Staff, I would like to thank all of Mountbatten Lodge staff for looking after Mum since December 2013. It remains difficult for -us- to adjust to not visiting Mum in the 'Blue Lounge'. It was here that we enjoyed some chat, fun and always a refreshing cup of tea made by Mum's carers. Mum was very comfortable spending much of her time with her new group of friends in the lounge - the décor reminded her of her home at Tring. From the very outset, Mountbatten staff were very attentive, welcoming, kind and understanding - Grant and Yvonne were so supportive during those first few days. Mum was able to adjust and settle very well, with Gill, Maggie and Sandra being Mum's main carers, doing everything they could to help Mum at all times. It was such a positive move for Mum, following Mum's poor health and Dad's passing away in June 2013. Mountbatten Lodge enabled Mum to have 24-7 care in top class accommodation she so deserved and needed. Those first few months were key to her well-being / improvement. Kirsty's kindness and help to Mum on her 90th birthday were part of that, as we celebrated with friends and relatives in the 'Blue Lounge'. A lovely day for all! Mum always enjoyed the home's musical events. Corinne and Lorraine do a fantastic job. It was so special how they, along with the other carers, encouraged Mum to 'journey out' to Hatfield House for an opera and to Warner's End Community Centre. She enjoyed those afternoons of 'live music', especially if there was a violin and some classical music. A combination of her close relatives, many friends, cups of tea in lovely surroundings enjoying music, a sense of fun and lively chat would make Mum smile and be contented. At Mountbatten Lodge she was able to experience all these. Thanking you all again, N
