Life at Quantum

As promised... here is the first post for our new Facebook feature 'Life at Quantum.' Here we aim to explore what it's like to work for Quantum Care in addition to what it's like to work in the care industry. We will take a look into the lives of many of our staff members and look at what they enjoy, what they find challenging and what their best memories are. This week Demi, from the marketing department, interviewed Emma from The Mead, our home in Borehamwood. Here's what she said... Demi (Interviewer): So Emma, what is your job at Quantum Care? Emma: I am the Home Administrator Demi: For how long have you worked at Quantum Care? Emma: For 2 years and 3 months Demi: What is your favourite thing about your job? Emma: Spending time with the residents and organising things for them. Demi: What do you find challenging? Emma: As Administrator, there doesn’t seem to be a limit to my job description. You are expected to know a bit about everything and drop what you’re doing to do something else, which isn’t a problem but sometimes I run out of time to do what I need to. Demi: Why do you like working for Quantum Care? Emma: I think QC is a good organisation to work for. Lovely down to earth people. Good employee benefits. It’s made me look at life differently. I never had elderly people in my family growing up but I love spending time with the people that live here and I respect old people so much now and have a greater understanding of the history they’ve lived through and the struggles they can face. Demi: Could you describe what it’s like to work for Quantum Care in 3 words? Emma: Rewarding, Challenging, Interesting. Demi: What is your best memory at Quantum Care?
