The Mayor very kindly opened two new facilities within the care home - a new sensory room for residents living with dementia, and a coffee and cake club. The new sensory room will provide a therapeutic space which includes a range of equipment to stimulate the senses of sight, sound, taste, smell and movement, and includes lighting equipment which was kindly donated by Sainsbury’s in Buntingford. The new coffee and cake club, which will be open every Tuesday afternoon from 2.30 – 4pm, will provide a place for residents, their family and friends to sit and chat over coffee and homemade cake. The residents and staff were pleased to have members of the Buntingford Day Centre join them for the opening as well. Home Manager Liz Cook said “we are delighted to have the Mayor officially open these two new additions to our Home. The sensory room will provide a wonderful space for our residents living with dementia to relax and enjoy the surroundings, and we look forward to welcoming our local community into the Home for tea, coffee and cake over the coming months!”
