Mountbatten's Got Talent!
Last Sunday the residents of Mountbatten Lodge were the audience at the home's talent contest. There were 8 acts competing, including: -Ken, resident, who did a Roy Orbison impersonation and sang Pretty Woman -Dennis, resident, who sang Living Doll -Grant, carer, who sang his own written songs and played his guitar -Rebecca, daughter of one of our relief managers, played a beautiful classical piece on the violin -Samy, an agency staff member, showed off his skills at Indian dancing which amazed everyone -Corinne & Lorraine named their act “Abbalicious” and sang an array of Abba hits. -Amy, carer, and her husband Andy sang a very moving performance of “ How Great Thou Art” and Kath, carer, read a very lovely poem that she wrote about being a carer at Mountbatten Lodge. The event was kindly sponsored and judged by Richard Stillman of Moneyhill Interiors Ltd whose Mother is one of the residents. And the winners were... He awarded the winners Amy and Andy £100, which they were delighted about, and said that they would treat themselves to a nice meal with the money. Grant and Samy came joint second place. Richard also generously gave all the contestants a bottle of Prosecco each. At the end, Richard said that he was so grateful to all the carers and staff at Mountbatten Lodge. He said his mother has been very well looked after and is always full of smiles. A big thank you to Richard for sponsoring and judging the even and all of our dedicated performers!
