NEVER TOO OLD TO PARTY!
We hosted our annual Residents Christmas Party at Tewin Bury Farm on Wednesday 11th December.
Every year Quantum Care organises a Christmas Party for residents and carers with a total of 300 guests attending. Everyone is treated to a two-course traditional Christmas Turkey lunch, entertainment, a Christmas quiz, carol singers and a raffle of gifts donated by Quantum Care’s supply chain partners.
This year the residents were joined by special VIP guests Mayor or Welwyn Hatfield Cllr Roger Trigg and his wife Mayoress Carole Trigg, and Cllr Richard Roberts.
The guests enjoyed carol singing performances from St Johns School Choir from Lemsip and Larwood School children from Stevenage. The organisation also has its very own choir called the Quantum Quavers that also performed on the day.
Residents and their carers were provided with Christmas accessories like hats, glasses and musical instruments so that they could really get into the spirit and those that were able to enjoy a dance at the disco that concluded the party.
Santa Claus got plenty of attention with one resident asking to sit on his knee for a photograph. He spoke to every single resident as they left giving them all chocolate gifts.
Cassie Larham, Marketing Manager said: “Without a doubt, this is our most favourite event of the year. It takes a lot of organising to accommodate so many people but all the effort that is put in comes back ten-fold in gratitude from the guests seeing them having a lovely time. One resident commented that she had never been to a party like it, whilst others said its the best Christmas Party that they had ever been to. It just goes to show that it is the small things that many of us take for granted that can still mean so much to an older person, and one thing is for sure - our residents are living proof that we are never too old to party!”
