News Update From The Mead

Residents and staff and family's raised funds for our Dementia UK coffee morning on the 1st March. Everyone joined in having refreshments of tea and coffee with biscuits and cakes. £28 was raised from raffle donations which came from local business and staff. Residents have begun a garden group where residents have been using their life skills planting seeds. They are hoping to plant in raised beds later in the spring Due to popular demand the residents have received new baking equipment for the baking group. Residents recently made home-made cakes for the St Michael's church visit on Wednesday 21st March. From March residents are able to take communion on Tuesday evening once a month. The next visit from Rev Richard Leslie will take place on Tuesday evening 9th April at 6.30 pm in resident's lounge Wednesday 24th April in the day centre at 2:15 pm Easter will be busy time at The Mead. Residents will have an opportunity to make Easter cakes and Easter eggs. Residents have already begun to make their own hand made Easter cards and there is still time to make one. Easter wouldn't be the same without flowers and Easter bonnets so over the Easter weekend residents will use their creative skills to continue Easter traditions. On good Friday hot cross buns will be served. To conclude the Easter festivities Dennis the one man stand entertainer will be joining The Mead on Tuesday evening 2nd April at 6:30pm.
