November 2011 Activities at Fosse House
Zoë writes from Fosse House with the home's activities and events for November: 1st November - We are having a reminiscence box brought in from St Albans Hatfield Road Museum. The box we have chosen is Nostalgia and we'll will be going to all units to have one-to-ones with our residents. 4th November - We are holding a Fireworks party which is scheduled to kick off at 6.30pm. On offer will be hot dogs, jacket potatoes, mulled wine and other hot beverages. 10th November - We are going on a day trip to The RAF Museum in Hendon with a group of our residents. 15th November - We are having another reminiscence box brought in from St Albans Hatfield Road Museum. The box we have chosen this time is Summer Holidays. 20th November - We are holding our regular monthly Sunday morning church service with our lovely vicar from St Michaels. Mondays we will be offering hand massages and manicures and will also be holding a musical afternoon. We have Tuesday morning shopping trips to next door Waitrose and walks out to the local lake (weather permitting). On a Wednesday morning our vicar, Melanie, comes in to speak with our residents. Wednesday Friends Tea afternoons are being held in our sun lounge and on our units for all our residents to enjoy. We are also making friends at Vesta Lodge and join them in their coffee shop on occasions. We are also looking at The Zuma arm chair exercise class to start at Fosse House. Our Thursday Morning knitting circle is going from strength to strength and we are going out to local nurseries for tea in the afternoons. We hold Bingo sessions on Friday mornings. Saturdays and Sundays we hold one to one chats, memory joggers, crossword puzzle’s on the flip chart, quizzes, movie mornings, sherry time.
