Opening of Resident’s Art Exhibition at Margaret House

[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2110","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-7833","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"366","title":"QC8-044","alt":""}}]] On Wednesday 23rd April Councillor Brenda Kersey officially opened a display of paintings produced by Margaret House’s resident artist Robin Southwood. The idea for a gallery opening came about as a way of thanking Robin for the beautiful paintings which decorate the Home. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2111","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-7834","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"366","title":"QC8-001","alt":""}}]] Artist Robin has been a resident at the care home in Abbots Langley for many years, however in 2010 Robin, his family and Quantum Care’s facilities team initiated a project to design and build a purpose built potting shed within the grounds of the Home so that Robin had his own space to paint. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"2112","attributes":{"class":"media-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-7835","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"550","height":"366","title":"QC8-054","alt":""}}]] The Home is now adorned with his beautiful paintings, and so the staff and residents of Margaret House thought that a gallery evening would be a fitting way to acknowledge Robin’s work, and to share his paintings with the local community.
