Poetry Corner at Jubilee Court

Jubilee Court residents enjoyed a wonderful visit from poet, author and local celebrity Pete Perry on National Poetry Day! He delighted residents with readings of his work, both serious and humorous, and was more than happy to discuss his inspirations and experiences. His performance was followed up with residents reciting some of their own favourite poems and sharing their thoughts on reading and writing poetry. Pete proved to be a very popular guest at Jubilee and has a highly engaging character that the residents loved. The event was wrapped up with Pete signing free copies of his books and telling the residents that he ‘never had them printed to make money but to give people pleasure’; something he undoubtedly managed on this visit!
