Willow Court have shown their support for The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal this year by selling poppies . . . with a difference!
Jenny Ryan, who plans a variety of activities and events for our Harpenden residents, has been busy creating some very unique knitted poppies which are sold at the Home.
The poppy was first chosen as a symbol of Remembrance in 1918. It was then adopted in 1921 by the British Legion for the Poppy Appeal – a fundraising campaign which helps us to support the British Armed Forces past and present, and their families.
If you would like a poppy with a difference this year please pop in to Willow Court in Aldwickbury Crescent, where you will be able to purchase a poppy for just £2. Jenny has also made some very special knitted bears which can be purchased for £4 – with all money going towards this very worthy appeal.
