Providence Court Go Over The Top Of The O2!
Karen, Jackie, Mel, Pat, Jean and Danielle from Providence Court all climbed the O2 dome on Friday in the sweltering 80 degree heat. Home manager Karen said “Our climb started with being rigged out in our safety gear, and then we started the first part of our climb which was a 30 degree incline, and which was not easy in the heat. We progressed to the middle of the dome, where we were blessed with beautiful views over London along with a huge sense of relief to have reached the top. In total the climb took about an hour from start to finish, some of us want to do it all over again, and some were very pleased it was over. We estimate that we have raised in excess of £1200 for our minibus fund. I am so proud of my amazing team - the girls did good. A special mention goes to Jackie Dilley who was very determined to achieve this and has. We are currently planning our next fund raising effort – the fastest zip wire in Europe, which is in Wales, and reaches speeds of 100 mph. We are determined to carry on until we can give our residents a mini bus that will have such a big impact on their daily lives and wellbeing”.
