Testimonial for Beane River View
To all at Beane River View, We would like to thank you all for the last 15 months that dad was in your care. From the very first day when he arrived as a lonely confused old man we knew he was going to be happy in your care. I remember being horrified when, being asked by Kerrie, if there was anything else she could do for him and he replied 'give me a kiss' and, without hesitation, she obliged and shared a little joke with him. In a short time his confidence grew and with that his mobility improved. When he first arrived he hadn't walked properly for 6 months but within weeks he could walk without the frame. He remembered the carer's names and they shared parts of their lives with him. He knew if they had children or were getting married and who lived on a 'yacht'. In his previous care home he thought of it as a hospital and called all the carers 'nurse'. At Beane River View in his lovely room he felt that he was at home. His room was always clean as were his clothes. He took pride in his appearance and was always clean shaven and his hair was well kept. Dad loved his food and enjoyed the lovely cakes and puddings served on a regular basis. We felt secure in the knowledge that if he ever felt unwell there would be immediate care and this was proven when he had the stroke and medical assistance arrived so quickly. As you know dad loved music and enjoyed so many musical events at Beane River View - especially Elvis. Saturday morning bingo was a popular pastime especially as the prizes often contained chocolate eclairs! Everyone involved in his care brought joy and security to his life and we are grateful that our lasting memories of our dad are of him being happy and content. Thank you to you all for choosing a profession which gives so much to others and which can make such a difference to someone's life. You all deserve a medal! God bless you all, Love from Albert's family.
