Dear Melanie and all the staff at Tye Green Lodge, I am sorry it has taken so long to write to thank you all. You have all been in my thoughts often but it has been difficult to put my thoughts on paper. In fact not just my thoughts bur my brother Chris' too. When I first visited Tye Green one evening in early February last year I felt a warmth that was hard to describe - it just felt the right place for our mum. I have never run a care home but I could take a guess at how difficult it is to get it right. But it's not all about hitting targets and winning awards, it's about that warmth and care that comes across when you see someone talking to your mum and the warmth you see in her eyes when she looks back. We feel very lucky that we found you and that our mum was blessed by your care and affection in the last months of her life. She constantly reminded us 'how clean' it was and how 'lovely' everyone was. We could not have wished for better for her last months and we thank you deep from our hearts for that. ...
