Paul said “It was great to try new ideas and get to hear resident’s feedback first hand. It has gotten me really excited about the Virtual Cruise week! Hopefully this will get Willow Court some good press!” Jenny (Activities Co-Ordinator) said “It was absolutely brilliant, Virtual Cruise week will be fantastic and the residents can’t wait.” The Virtual Cruise offer a socially engaging activity designed to encourage interaction & conversation between fellow residents & staff that is FUN! It is important as good diet, hydration and social interaction are essential to the Care Home Channel. A delicious meal or pleasant aroma can improve social interaction and enjoyment of life for our residents. The residents really enjoyed having some new and different meals to try and certainly got engaged with the scoring of the meals, each resident had a small sample serving of each meal and then rated it out of 5 with our scorecards. The residents sampled mouth-watering meals from France, Mexico and India such as Chicken Coronation Wraps, Vol-Au-Vent Champignon A La Creme, Buen Provecho, Beef Enchillada, Vegetable Ratatouille With Steamed Fish and loads more! Virtual Cruise's next stop will be at Beane River View on Thursday and Courtland Lodge next week for another tasting session.
