The Willow Tree Restaurant
Fine Dining at Willow Court - Last night members of staff from Quantum Care’s head office were treated to a first class restaurant experience at Willow Court in Harpenden alongside residents and their guests. The Willow Tree is a pop up restaurant where residents at the care home in Harpenden can invite guests to join them for an evening of fine dining, laid on by Chef Manager Paul Campbell, Deputy Chef Manager Malek Bachene and Catering Assistant Lily Marshall, ably assisted... by Activities Co-ordinators Rachel Messer, Donna Bates and Home Manager Sarah Adlam.
Guests were provided with a three course menu consisting of a choice of starters, mains and dessert. The choices for the mouth-watering starters were Creamy Garlic Chestnut Mushrooms on Ciabatta with Roasted Tomatoes or Halloumi Courgettes Herb Cake with a Sweet Chilli Sauce. The mains then followed of either Duck with Blood Orange Grazed Plumb Mash and a Sweet Hoisin Jus or Sea Bream, Parsnip Puree and a Salsa Verde. A delicious choice of puddings included a White Chocolate Raspberry Crème Brûlée or a Banana Sticky Toffee Pudding and Clotted Cream. The food was presented beautifully just as you would expect to see at a Michelin Star restaurant.
A Quantum colleague commented: “I had the garlic mushrooms on ciabatta followed by the most delectable duck, all topped off with a sublime creme brûlée. To say it was delicious does not do it justice. The food was simply excellent with not a morsel left on any of our plates. The comments from residents and families were that it was just like eating in a top class restaurant.”
The Willow Tree Restaurant highlights the high quality of catering that is being supplied in our care homes. Food is not just about health and well-being, it is also about having a wonderful social experience with families and friends. Paul Campbell, Chef Manger and his team put on an amazing evening last night and it is not surprising that there is already a waiting list for the next event. Not only are they well known locally for the quality of the food at Willow Court, they have also been recognised nationally and are up for an award at the NACC National Association of Care Catering Awards next Thursday.
A message from the ladies that attended from head office: “Thank you all at Willow Court for the amazing meal and amazing service. Best of luck next week for the NACC NACC awards, you certainly all deserve it!”
