The holiday season is always a busy and extra special time in our homes as residents and staff prepare for the coming celebrations. This year we had our traditional countdown to Christmas Day with our special online advent calendar and our company wide Christmas tree decoration competition.

A group of three veterans laid wreaths during a Remembrance Day ceremony at Willow Court, our care home in Harpenden. Norman Wearne (100), Brian Saffery (88) and Mr. C (104) all served their country during the Second World War and all are residents at the home.

Running the Cancer Research Race for Life has always featured as one of our fundraising highlights of the year. Volunteer runners from Quantum Care would gather together at our Head Office car park to be shuttled by minibus to Stanborough Park in Welwyn Garden City to run the 5k event.

Ione joined the Quantum Care family all the way back in 2002. She started as a Careworker at Heath House and within a year she had been promoted to Care Team Manager. In 2006 she moved to The Fairway as the home’s Deputy Manager and while there was promoted to Home Manager.

For many people living in Hoddesdon, Margaret Davison will be a familiar name. She has spent the last 36 years running local Rummage Sales within the grounds of our Hoddesdon care home, accepting donated items from the local community and selling them on for the benefit of the residents within the home.
