Residents from Jubilee Court were invited to The Mayor’s Chambers in Stevenage. They were all treated to a selection of finger sandwiches and cake with a cup of tea, before a guided tour by the current Mayor, Councillor John Lloyd who was a very friendly and informative host.

Two football fans from Jubilee Court were invited to the Stevenage Museum to remember the 1966 world cup. Along with other members from the community, they watched a short video showing highlights of the game and discussing their memories from the day.

Over the last few weeks, residents from Jubilee Court have been enjoying outings on Friday afternoons.

Residents at Jubilee Court along with family members and carers all enjoyed a visit from animal expert Safari Stu. Some brave carers were also allowed to take some of the animals around, ensuring that everyone had an opportunity to hold a wide range of reptiles, stick insects, spiders and snakes.

Jubilee Court residents had a fantastic celebration of International Chocolate Day in July! A delicious chocolate fountain was set up the home with plenty of treats to dip! It’s an event they’re very much looking forward to repeating!

Residents at jubilee court enjoyed their own BBQ; cooking their own sausages; enjoying bananas and chocolate and toasted marshmallows! They followed it up a good old singalong to campfire songs!

Jubilee Court decided to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday now, in between her actual and official birthdays. The home had a fantastic party that lasted all afternoon with plenty of decorations, a delicious meal with an ample supply of cake, singing and sherry!

Instead of giving each other cards at Christmas, staff at Jubilee Court put the money to one side and have now put it into a donation, along with a contribution from a doctor at Chells Surgery, to the Lister Hospital Neonatal Services!
